PRESIDENTIAL TOWERS

The offices of Searl Lamaster Howe Architects and Valerio Dewalt Train collaborated on renovations of the various public spaces in the residential portion of Presidential Towers, a four tower residential community on the west edge of the Chicago Loop.  In addition to radically updating the entire public face of the complex, the project addresses a myriad of circulation, security, and operational issues.

A super-sized wood feature wall provides both a backdrop for the new main desk and an inviting entry to the leasing and management offices beyond.  In addition to the main lobby there are a series of other public circulations zones including a centralized security checkpoint and bridges linking the buildings.  New finishes update the spaces and furniture was added and arranged to encourage informal socializing amongst residents and to create impromptu workspaces.  Inside the entirely new leasing and management offices polished concrete floors, glass walls, and bold accent colors embody the reinvigorated character of the rest of the complex.

Outside, new exterior lighting including custom pendants and distinct bollards signal the new image.  Searl Lamaster Howe also designed updates to the upper tower floors including new lobby finishes and custom carpets.
