PAM LAMASTER-MILLETT, AIA

Pam is a licensed architect in Illinois, Michigan, Indiana and Utah, and a Principal at SLH. Prior to becoming a partner with Searl Lamaster Howe Architects in 2007, she was with Searl & Associates since 1998. Over the past two decades, Pam has worked to foster a studio culture of creatives, designing toward craft, and beyond trend. As one of two managing Principals, she prioritizes her presence in the office, actively working with clients and staff.

She has designed & managed a wide variety of architectural & interior design projects, including residences (private & multifamily), showrooms, restaurants & offices. Her work is distinguished by a balance of creative vision & pragmatic exploration. She is passionate about how the design of space informs day-to-day lives, and conversely how lives inform space.

Prior to moving to Chicago, Pam lived in Cleveland & Indianapolis where she worked on a range of mixed-use & institutional projects. Pam earned her Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design from Ball State University College of Architecture & Planning, and is an alumni of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program.

She sat as part of the Small Residential Working Group for modernizing the Chicago Building Code. Pam has lectured at the Chicago Architecture Center on residential design in post civic/public buildings. Pam is the steward of the Lakeview Community Garden, Fletcher Street. She also is an active member on the Arts Council at her childrens’ school. She has served as a visiting critic at Ball State & the UIC & has participated on the Chicago AIA awards jury.
